Some days it seems like I am stuck in the mud. I am from the Pacific Northwest so I actually know what that’s like. I remember when I was little my mom used to keep kitty litter in the trunk in case she got stuck in the mud. Usually when you are stuck you just need a little traction under the tires to get you moving again. Kitty litter is just the trick. Just enough to let those tires get some grip and get you back on the road again.
Today I am going to give you kitty litter. You can thank me later.
It’s the one little thing you can do today and everyday to change your future. It’s how you encourage your mind. It can be a few minutes a day, but those few minutes will get under your tires and get you moving forward. It’s simple enough that everyone can do it, but most don’t.
Read a non-fiction book. Doesn’t have to be the whole book, just open it and start reading. Learn something. Expand your mind. Grow the best asset you have – your brain. Your mind is the only thing that will create a different reality for you. So don’t watch that last TV program tonight. Read a book instead. (Queue Reading Rainbow song).
“You will be the same person in five years as you are today except for the people you meet and the books you read.”
– Charlie Jones
I remember when we didn’t have much money, I didn’t want to read, talk or listen to anything regarding money. That was avoidance running the show. If you are struggling with money, pick up a book about money and read a little every day. Push back on that avoidance just a little by expanding your ideas about money. Reading about the thing you are avoiding can give you just enough traction to get you out of the mud. Pretty soon you will control your money instead of it controlling you.
Ha. This makes me want a cat again.

I like this idea, but am overwhelmed by ‘what book to read’. Have you a few that you thought were gems you could suggest. Or perhaps some you liked – on the topic of money I suppose. Thanks so much. Enjoying your blog so far.. went to the beginning to start reading Cheers
